Beatweek Magazine) Jay Leno got more than he bargained for this evening when he asked his lead guest Denis Leary why the sarcastic comedian joined Twitter. Leary promptly replied that it’s because he’s competitive by nature and he “saw Conan was twittering.” Oops. Conan O’Brien joined Twitter after being forced out of his role hosting the Tonight Show when the job went infamously back to Leno earlier this year. Leno looked mortified but managed not to say anything retaliatory, and instead sheepishly plugged the fact that he’s also on Twitter himself (last we checked, Conan just reached the million follower mark while Leno has a whopping 58,000). Conan claims NBC considered attempting to get his Twitter account shut down.
