Copperheads, young and old, at Holy Souls Hermitage

Here’s the remants of an old copperhead. You can see the triangular head here. When holding it to the sun, the telltale pattern of the copperhead was visible.


Here a baby copperhead in a typical pose: threatening to bite, but not even baring his fangs. Perhaps he’s too itsy bitsy yet to have any real fangs. I wonder how many were in this brood of vipers!


Getting away! Very happy about that. Snakes are great around the hermitage for getting mice and rats and such. I’ll have to figure out a way to keep them away from the chickens, which aren’t here yet, but coming soon!
