Incoming! The Sun Unleashes CME at Earth

Sunnow

Earlier this morning, NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) witnessed a complex magnetic eruption on the sun. The joint NASA/ESA Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) -- a mission sitting at the L1 point between the Earth and the sun -- also spotted a large coronal mass ejection (CME) blasting in the direction of Earth...We can expect its arrival on Aug. 3.

I caught that story too yesterday from another site. Are you a bit of an astronomy geek, too, Vincenzo?

I don't have any formal education, but one of the things I do watch is sun activity. I subscribe to a few NASA, space and science e-newsletters.
