Gay brother makes Anne Hathaway quit Catholic Church for Episcopalianism

NY Daily News:

"Anne Hathaway left the Catholic Church after her brother opened up about being gay. 'The whole family converted to Episcopalianism after my elder brother came out,' says the actress. 'Why should I support an organization that has a limited view of my beloved brother?' So what religion is Anne now? 'I'm nothing,' she admits. 'F- it, I'm forming. I'm a work in progress.' (source)

Full Text of Catholic Catechism Regarding Homosexuality

#2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.” They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

#2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

#2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

Every demon is assigned a task by Satan.

Some set fires, some poltergeists, some possess, some wreck havoc, and so on.

The demon of homosexuality is a most powerful demon.

The prayers of little old ladies and children, and constant prayer of the Holy Rosary, preferably in a Traditional Chapel, before the Blessed Sacrament, is required to undo the hard work these demons and those who meet together against God and His Christ.

I am happy to see this woman has claimed she is a work in progress. It shows there is hope for her.

Let us pray and do penance for her and those who are similarly situated.

Thank you Sante Pater for bringing this particular woman to our attention that we may set out on the road to Holy Week with worthy goals.

God be with you.

old news? She did this in 1997...

I agree with Church doctrine on this matter, but I do find it disturbing you referring to them as demons, Pablo. These are people too.

Dear Mr. Mark M,

I was speaking of the woman and others separate from the subject of demons. The demon subject was to demonstrate it could possibly be due to the work of a demon.

As Catholics we believe in the influence of the diabolical in our lives. Sometimes we become so virtuous we are not able to see how the devil moves among us.

The manner of prayer recommended for this particular instance is taken from experience.

I am certain should the young lady read my comments she would extend Charity to my comment, and not be scandalized.

May God our Lord in his infinite and supreme goodness be pleased to give us his abundant grace, that we may know his most holy will, and entirely fulfill it.

I am well aware of how we view the diabolical as Catholics. I was simply concerned over your use of languages. Far often do people forget that these people are just that: human beings! (not that I agree with them at all)
