VATICAN CITY, 23 JUL 2008 (VIS) - In the Apostolic Palace of Castelgandolfo on Friday 25 July, Benedict XVI is scheduled to receive in audience Nouri Al- Maliki, prime minister of Iraq.
The Iraqi prime minister, who is visiting a number of other European countries, will also meet Cardinal Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone S.D.B. The largest Christian community in Iraq is that of the Chaldeans, Catholics of oriental rite and one of the oldest Christian Churches in the world.
